PROSPECTIVE GRADUATE STUDENTS

Health Care Informatics

The University of Colorado Denver, College of Nursing offers a Master of Science program in nursing designed to prepare nurses for advanced practice roles. Students are prepared to formulate clinical, administrative or policy decisions to promote health with clients experiencing wellness, acute or chronic illness, and to develop, manage, and evaluate the care within communities and health care systems. Nurses in advanced practice roles will be prepared to integrate relevant knowledge from nursing and other disciplines in their practice and participate in interdisciplinary relationships to create or influence the health care environment. The program is structured to provide a foundation for career paths for future leaders in advanced nursing practice and to prepare lifelong learners who demonstrate knowledge, skill, critical thinking and flexibility. The Master of Science program also provides the foundation for doctoral study in nursing.

The Master of Science program options prepare nurses for advanced practice in selected areas of focus. These defined areas of focus are designed to meet educational requirements for professional certification or requirements for career opportunities in specialty practice areas. Health Care Informatics is one such specialty practice area.
