Many OPDES Programs are offered as professional development and academic enrichment courses to support learner success. These courses support the school’s mission, enhance inclusiveness and diversity, and are beneficial recruitment and retention tools for our students. They include the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) Review, PhD Boot Camp, Spanish Healthcare Terminology, and the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Preparation Course.
The GRE Preparation course is offered, each fall and spring semester, to assist you in getting ready to take graduate school entrance exams. Our course offers verbal/analytical-writing and quantitative sections. For further information please download the GRE Prep Course Informational Flyer or contact OPDES at 303-724-1372 or email our office at: professional.development@ucdenver.edu.
A review course for preparing to take the National Council Licensure Examination for RNs (NLCEX) is offered each fall and spring. BS Seniors and ND II Students looking for help with reviewing Pharm and Patho content in preparation for nursing boards are encouraged to register. Those students needing to brush up on Pharm and Patho to be better prepared for clinicals would also benefit from taking this course. For further information please download the NCLEX Review Informational Flyer or contact OPDES at 303-724-1372 or email our office at: professional.development@ucdenver.edu.
PhD Boot Camp is offered each summer to all PhD students wishing to develop their professional writing skills. We strongly encourage students writing comprehensive papers or dissertations to attend. Opportunities are available for individual mentoring by graduate nursing faculty. Each day there will be education sessions offered as well as time for your writing. Additionally, this is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with other PhD students and your faculty.
