Online RN to Bachelor of Science (B.S.)
in Nursing (in-state residents only)

Balance life, work, and learning online
The RN-Bachelor of Science degree program, based on the Colorado Nursing Articulation Model, is an educational pathway available for registered nurses who desire career mobility and professional development. The availability of online courses supports the unique needs for flexibility and access to adult learners who want to complete the B.S. degree while working. Nursing and non-nursing education are recognized and working schedules and life commitments are accommodated through educational technology, including web-based courses and online learning. 

The RN to BS program is currently only available to nurses who reside in Colorado.  For questions regarding this program, please call 303-724-1812 to speak to an admissions specialist.

New Policies Effective June 2007 or later:

  1. On-Line Application Only: Applications must be submitted on line beginning with applications submitted on June 1 or later.  Payment of application fee must be mailed to the College of Nursing at the address below.

  2. Application Deadlines:  All application materials must be in the office of the College of Nursing by the deadline dates below.  If a deadline falls on a weekend or a holiday, the deadline is extended to the next working day.             

     September 1 for Spring
    January 1 for Summer
     April1 for Fall
                                                                                                                             
  3. Overall GPA Required to Apply = 3.00 or better
    The recommended overall GPA for ALL college/university course work for the RN to BS program is 3.00 or better.  Applicants with an overall GPA of less than 3.00 may also apply if all of the prerequisites/electives are completed before the requested start term.

  4. 10 Year Time Limit on Prerequisites/Electives
    Prerequisites (and electives for applicants without a bachelor’s degree) must be no older than 10 years by the application deadline. Applicants may request a waiver of this policy by submitting a written request.  This request can be mailed with the application fee to the address in item #1 above.

  5. TOEFL Test Required for All Applicants with a Primary Language other than English
    The TOEFL test is required for U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, and all other applicants with a primary language other than English. For more details, go to the Quick Info box and click on "View Application Procedures".

  6. Proof of Nursing School Accreditation
    If you received your associate degree in nursing from a school outside of Colorado,  you must provide proof of NLN or CCNE accreditation for the date that you graduated.  Proof can be provided by the school you attended or by the accrediting agencies.  Be sure the dates of accreditation cover the date that you graduated.

  7. Firm Deadlines: All parts of the application are due in the College of Nursing office by the required deadlines listed in item #2

  8. Applicant Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the applicant to plan ahead to ensure that all parts of the application arrive at the College of Nursing by the deadlines. Please check the Quick Info Box under Application Deadlines & Info for the all deadline details.
